This highly original 1920s art deco mirror is an excellent example from the era. Understated but super stylish, the bevelled mirror is held within a vintage gold frame which scalloped sides.
The mirror glass is bevelled and is in perfect condition. The carved frame is integral to the wooden back and is therefore a substantial piece. It has the original sturdy metal hanging chain. The back is the original, which is solid ebonised wood. There are a couple of minor scuffs the scalloped edges but these are on the side so not easily seen and these certainly do not detract from its vintage charm.
Due to its weight and quality, the mirror could very well be an Atsonea mirror made by Attewell.
Attewell were originally “the greatest name in English mirrorcraft” prior to a change of direction in 1942, in response to their contribution to the war effort. B. Attewell & Sons Limited made parts for Spitfire aircraft during WWII.
