This is a delightful and highly individual hand painted metal oval bed warmer thought to date back to the 1920s/30s. This piece is full of charm and character with its pretty hand painted floral design on a teal coloured base. The metal screw lid with handle is in full working condition and in its original state.
Of Danish origin, there is a maker's mark to the base 'DANSK ARBEJDL'.

This warmer would have been used during the winter months to warm either feet or the bed at nighttime prior to getting in. It is a metal fabricated unit welded in the center and has a brass stopper on the top. They would fill it with hot water and place it under the bed covers to warm the bed.
A very attractive item that could be used as its intended purpose, as a vintage doorstop, a pretty vase or simply as an item for display.
