A delightful pen illustration by acclaimed artist James Priddey RBSA, PPRBSA, FRSA, (19 April 1916 – 10 November 1980). The location is unconfirmed but thought to be that of a village setting in the Black Country.  It has a slate grey coloured mount and timeless gold metal frame.  On the rear it has the framer's details 'Ernest Wheatley Ltd of Regent Street, London'.  It comes ready to hang.

Priddey had several styles, all unmistakably his own. He produced black and white line illustrations for books and pamphlets such as the 1973 publication Heart of England, a guide to the Midlands region. Towns, villages, rural scenes and some fine Black Country landscapes filled its pages, while a watercolour, very different in style but equally beautiful, graced the dustjacket.
