This is a fabulous large pewter charger, also known as an Armada plate. Made by La Bottega del Peltro, North Italy it has the letters VR engraved on the front.
This has been made to look like an 18th century charger but dates to around 1970s. It has a lovely aged look with surface marks and dings inline with it's age and character.
On the underside it has the maker's mark and SW 95% to show the tin purity and GT stamp for the La Bottega workshop.
Whilst this would make an excellent addition to any pewter collection, it is highly desirable as a fruit bowl for the kitchen table or sideboard.
Diameter 44.5cm.
