This silver plated candlestick is in very good condition with a nice aged patina. The maker's mark on the base is William Hutton.
William Hutton & Sons was a silversmithing company founded in Birmingham in 1800 by William Hutton. The firm moved to Sheffield in 1832 and expanded into plating. The business was passed down through the Hutton family, undergoing several name changes as sons joined the company. William Hutton & Sons became known for their innovative plating techniques and high-quality Arts & Crafts silverware. They were eventually acquired by James Dixon & Sons in 1930.
